Andrew Mirsky
Andrew founded Mirsky & Company in 2004, with offices in Washington, DC and New York City. He and the firm have always focused on intellectual property, contract and general business matters – with clients in technology (including political tech), internet and other new media, publishing and nonprofits.
Andrew has 24 years’ experience as a business and commercial lawyer, including 5 years’ experience in company management of media and technology enterprises. He began his law career in New York City at the corporate law firm of Kaye Scholer LLP (now Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer), focusing on corporate and finance transactions and advising clients in media, healthcare, securities, finance, manufacturing, and real estate.
After Kaye Scholer, Andrew worked in-house at a supply-chain technology startup in Princeton, NJ. Andrew moved to Washington in 1999 and worked in Advertising Operations at The Washington Post Company, then a 3-year stint at Atlantic Media Company as Director of Business Development and Legal Affairs before launching the current law firm in 2004.
Andrew has his law and undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He hails from New Jersey, the Show Me State (or perhaps the Garden State?), where he attended high school in Millburn, home of the Millers! (“we grind slowly, but we grind …”) … and studied classical and jazz piano at the Manhattan School of Music (Preparatory Division) in New York City.
